He who searches, find ... mostly!

Good and relatively affordable accommodation possibilities in Switzerland, especially in the big towns and cities, are much sought after and therefore not easy to find. If you can't live with relatives or friends, you would do well to begin your search for a room or a flat in good time. 

 

Peace and quiet or something trendy in shared accommodation?

The accommodation possibilities range from a flat of one's own, a room in a student hall of residence or with a host family to life in shared accommodation.  The decision on which type of accommodation depends on your personal needs and your budget.

 

  • Flats: advertised in regional newspapers and on the internet, often rather expensive
  • Apprentice and student halls of residence: affordable accommodation, mostly with certain conditions and regulations, contact possibilities with other apprentices or students. Some educational institutions offer their own accommodation.
  • Shared accommodation: affordable, contact possibilities with housemates/flatmates, often advertised on noticeboards in colleges, universities and also on the internet.
  • Accommodation service for students: individual universities offer their own flat and room agency for their students.  Information is available on the internet.
