Recruitment Conditions
The 18 Swiss schools abroad are private schools which receive financial assistance from the Swiss Federal authorities. To be eligible for recruitment as a Swiss teacher, applicants must hold a Swiss teaching qualification and have taught for at least three years in Switzerland without interruption.
Vacancies are published in the job section of the "Swiss Education" periodical (also on the Internet at www.bildungschweiz.ch), in supra-regional teachers newspapers and in wide circulation daily newspapers). In most cases a reference will be found on this Internet site under the heading "Vacancies"). The choice of teachers is always made by the school itself. Preliminary screening of applications and contacts with the interested parties are generally the responsibility of the representatives close to the schools, in particular the sponsor cantons of the schools in Switzerland. No general lists of applicants are kept.
