Age of retirement

Women are entitled to receive the old-age pension from their 64th birthday and men from their 65th birthday.

Both men and women may receive their pensions either one or two years earlier, but with a reduction rate of 6,8% per year anticipated (except for women born between 1939 and 1947 who benefit from a preferential rate of 3,4%.)

Receipt of an old-age pension may, under certain circumstances and upon application by the claimant, be deferred for one up to five years. In such cases, pensions are increased accordingly.
